This recipe, Matcha Green Tea Waffles, is really easy to make and very delicious too!
Matcha Green Tea Waffles
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup self raising whole meal
- 2 tsp Kenko Matcha Green Tea
- 1 egg, separated
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp margarine, melted, cooled
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 3/4 milk of choice (works best with skim milk)
Method
- Sift the flour into a large bowl, discarding any leftover bran. Sift Kenko Matcha Green Tea into the flour. Set aside.
- In medium bowl, beat the egg and sugar for 3 minutes.
- Add margarine and honey to the egg mixture, and continue to mix for 1 minute.
- Add alternately the milk and dry mixture to the wet mixture, until just combined. Do not over mix. Allow to stand for at 30 minute to 3 hours.
- Heat waffle iron to appliance instructions and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Spoon the waffle mix (1/4 to 1/2 cup) onto the iron and cook until crispy and slightly golden, 3 to 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with fresh fruit and a dusting of Kenko Matcha Green Tea.
The recipe serves 4 waffles, so 2 waffles per person.
