This dairy-free Matcha Green Tea Waffles recipe is super simple and tasty. If you love the earthiness and grassy flavor of matcha, you can’t go past this delightful brunch recipe. Top the waffles with coconut flavored whipped cream, chocolate and pistachios, and the result is an incredibly gorgeous brunch treat.
Vegan Homemade Green Tea Waffles
Ingredients
1½ cups plain flour (or wholemeal if you prefer)
1½ tsp baking powder
1-2 tsp vanilla powder
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of salt
1½ tbsp matcha
1½ almond milk
2 tbsp melted coconut oil, and an extra dash to grease your waffle iron with
¼ cup rice malt syrup (or 3⅕ tbsp brown sugar)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instruction
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients.
Mix well until combined.
Prepare the waffle iron by greasing it with melted coconut oil.
Dollop the batter onto the prepared waffle iron.
Cook for one minute or until golden
Stack the waffles on a serving plate.
Top with whipped coconut cream, shredded vegan chocolate and chopped pistachios, or any other topping of your choice.
